Launch MyNet Toolset and it will ask “how do you want to detect network nodes?” To provide an answer to that question, you can pick one of two options: detect network nodes using defined SNMP profiles; manage SNMP profiles. Pick the first option and MyNet Toolset will scan your network, detect all nodes, and then display them as a graphical map on its interface. Select the second option and you will get to add, delete or modify SNMP profiles.

Download an installer, run it, and then go through the onscreen instructions presented by a setup wizard. These are the standard steps you must go through to install software applications on Windows-powered PCs. They’re also the steps you must go through to install MyNet Toolset on a PC powered by Microsoft’s Windows operating system.

The first time you run MyNet Toolset, it will present the “how do you want to detect network nodes?” prompt I mentioned above. Once the scan process completes and all nodes are detected, MyNet Toolset will display them as a graphical map on its interface. Place the mouse cursor over a node and you can view the following info: name, DNS, IP, MAC address. Left click a node and you can access a set of network tools: ping, traceroute, and more.

MyNet Toolset is free software. Please note that a nag screen will show up at startup. To get rid of this nag screen you must register your MyNet Toolset copy (fill out a form and then you will receive a registration code that will disable the nag screen).

Scan your network, detect all nodes, view a graphical map that presents all detected nodes. That is, in a nutshell, the functionality you can expect to get from MyNet Toolset.

Pros

There is nothing complicated about installing MyNet Toolset on a Windows PC. You can scan your network using defined SNMP profiles; you can add, delete or modify SNMP profiles. All detected nodes are presented as a graphical map on a user friendly interface. View info about each node; use tools on selected nodes. MyNet Toolset is free software.

Cons

A nag screen shows up at startup. You must register your MyNet Toolset copy to get rid of this nag screen.
